About Us

Our history

Lamb & Holmes Solicitors is one of Northamptonshire’s oldest Law Firms, founded in 1813, by Mr. Henry Lamb. The firm's head office in Kettering, is located on West Street and has been the Firms main office for over 200 years.

In 1880 Mr. Charles Woodcock Stringer joined the Firm as Partner and the firm's name changed and became Lamb & Stringer. Later in 1939 Mr. Tony Holmes joined the firm as Partner and the firm became Lamb & Holmes.

In 1959, the Firm decided to open another office in Corby. In the 1960’s, the Firm saw further growth. The Kettering office was extended into the neighbouring property, Westbury, which was previously the family home of the Lamb family.

Mr. Edward Lamb, the great great grandson of Mr. Henry Lamb, is a practicing senior Partner in the Firm and is highly regarded by the local community for his commitment and continued work with local charitable organisations.

Lamb & Holmes Solicitors has always been, and will continue to be a local Firm that is steeped in history with a strong connection to the local community.  The Firm is renowned for the high standard of personal service it provides to its clients.

Lamb & Holmes continues to serve Northamptonshire and surrounding areas, with offices centrally located in Kettering and Corby. The Firms traditional values and modern approach are key to the Firms continued success. The ongoing commitment to providing a high standard of service and expert legal advice is what makes Lamb & Holmes the Firm that it is today.

We understand that it can sometimes be daunting for individuals to contact a Solicitor for the first time. We are mindful of this and we will always go the ‘extra mile’ to ensure that they feel welcome  and that they  have a full understanding of any legal advice given , free from legal jargon.

We offer a wide range of services for our clients. From the very start we provide our clients with their own legal advisor who will get to know about the client, or their business.

Communication is key at Lamb & Holmes and we always endeavour to ensure that our clients are always kept up to date on the progress of their matter.
